Some rains in June and July and a warm start for summer have assumed a good start for the ripening of the grapes. In the beginning of August though, the ripening was running some 10 days late according to 2009.

Harvest at the Domaine de l’Arjolle and at Château de Margon generally starts at the end of August on our Chardonnay and Sauvignon grapes, to end about eight weeks later by picking the fruits for our late harvest wine “Lyre”. During this time build in our wineries the flavours of different wines.

A family affaire for many years, the Domaine de l’Arjolle wakes up from its beauty sleep in 1974, due to Prosper and Louis-Marie Teisserenc. In years of hard work, they renew the vineyards of the domaine by planting Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon blanc.
