Protected by forests and oriented to the northwest, the vineyard “Les Longues Verges” is divided by the border between the two Grand Cru villages Cramant and Chouilly. Its name originates from an old agricultural uni tof square measure, the “Verge”, covering an area of 1276 m2. In view of the topography and its orientation, the grapes ripen more slowly than in other terroirs and the natural yields of the vines are lower.
Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes of this terroir, the LV is an exceptional and imposing wine. With impressive energy and minerality, it easily combines elegance and power, complexity and concentration, expressiveness and finesse. It requests all your attention, asks for respect and exuberance, demands for caviar, but also gets along with a piece of mature Parmesan cheese or a nightly thunderstorm above the roofs of New York.
“Reticent, mineral spice, a wine as if chiselled from a block of stone, straightforward, crystal clear, uncomplicated with a long green apple finish; a wonderful wine for connoisseurs, best enjoyed with food and fish. Magnificent.”
