Our vineyards of “La Ponche” and “Les Aubes” are situated in Vacqueyras. Despite of being close to Gigondas, the soils of Vacqueyras show quite a difference.
The wines get their characteristics and taste from Grenache and Syrah grapes rooted in alluvial terraces of clay, sand and stones: aromatically rich, mouth filling and soft, with typical delicate tannins, born on sandy soils.
Our cuvee “Les Aubes” 2008 is a typical example for this style of wine. Kristal clear and cherry red in the glass, a nose full of succulent red and black fruits: Raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry, mixed up with hints of olives and green tea. Smooth and rich on the palate, with straight acidity and full aromas of fruit, olives and pepper. Crispy tannins give length and youth to the final.
This Vacqueyras whets your appetite and will perfectly accompanie all kind of cuisine bistro, like black pudding with apples and sweet onions or grilled perch with bacon and morels.
